Ex-Boyzone hellraiser says 'I owe everything to Christ' Shane Lynch, former singer with Irish boy band Boyzone, has been relating his faith journey in the West Country this summer, telling of his transformation from a hard-drinking 'Mr Angry' to a dedicated Christian. The Irish hitmaker told thousands at the New Eden festival in Torquay - and then the Living Waters Church in Paignton, Devon - how "visiting demons from the pits of hell" plagued him during the last two years of his pop career. Anger, violence, hatred and drink problems saw him hit rock bottom before a chance encounter with Christian friend Ben Ofiedu of pop band Phats and Small helped direct him to God. He ended up at Lewisham evangelical church The Tabernacle, where he still worships today. "I owe everything to Christ," he told journalist Hugh Southon in an interview in Christian Herald recently. "I've been freed of everything and now pray that I am placed in a position where I can help bring others to him. "Some scoffed when I announced that I was a Christian, but this is no flash in the pan experience. I'm stronger, freer and happier than I've ever been in my life and it gets better and better - every day is a brand new adventure." Christian Natasha hits top of the charts Natasha Bedingfield reached the number one spot last month in the Top 40 with her second single These Words. She started her singing career with her brother and fellow chart-topper Daniel in the Nineties, when they used to perform at Christian events as Danny & Natasha, then later DNA Algorithm. Illusionist returns in Monkey Magic The second series of popular offbeat magic show Monkey Magic - starring Christian illusionist and evangelist Peter McCahon is now running on Tuesday nights at 8.30m on Channel 5. When not on the small screen, Pete aims to show how the Gospel can be communicated effectively and powerfully through cringe-free events. ©
