The Single Parent Journey - make friends as you make your way

Do you ever feel you have no-one to turn to as a single parent? That others may be concerned, but don’t really understand your situation and pain?

Christine Tufnell, who heads up Care for the Family’s single parent initiative, is all too aware of feelings and challenges that can overwhelm you as a single parent. She has created a series of events for other single mums and dads called The Single Parent Journey. The first of these conferences was held at Crewe recently, and the next is lined up for Edinburgh next month.

You may be facing the pain of not being with your children every day, or perhaps they are flying the nest. Hear from those who share similar experiences. Christine Tufnell writes and speaks extensively about single parenting and will be joined by others, sharing their stories about the following issues:

  • The journey - Where are you and what’s the next step?
  • Letting go of the past - How do you leave the baggage behind and make a new life?
  • Parenting issues - What is different about single parenting?
  • Facing the future - What are your personal dreams and how will you pursue them?

Christine says: "When I became a single parent it was tough but I was encouraged when I had the chance to meet others. Together it seemed we could all move forward."

Join us for a day of hope and inspiration at Charlotte Baptist Church, West Rose Street, Edinburgh, Saturday 1 March 10.15- 3.15pm. Tickets are £6 including lunch. Free creche available for children aged 0-8. Limited places available.
